For years of his activity, Zień has created a brand associated with luxury, elegance and a perfect finish. As the first fashion designer, he was honored to exhibit his works at the National Museum. He also received many awards and distinctions, and above all, the recognition and dedication of clients from the fashion and show business. It is not surprising, that his shows are always loudly commented events, both artistic and social.
The shimmering, metallic catwalk arranged in the capital club, featured 34 silhouettes by Zień. Amongst them, one could find both classically cut cocktail dresses and bold cuts that revealed underwear. Despite the wide range of colors chosen by the designer, all outfits had a common denominator - they looked as if they had been taken out of a sleepy, not necessarily sweet, dream.
Amongst materials used to create the collection, we can find jacquards, silks, tulles and chiffons, hand-sewn with zirconia and Swarovski stones and crystals. The motifs cropping up through the collection were both stars and moons, the Little Prince from the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, as well as unconventional insects - flies, dragonflies, moths or beetles. The inspiration to create this collection was Maciej Zień’s travels to South America, Africa and Europe. Variety of colors, precious fabrics and hand-woven patterns are just some of the elements used in the collection. “Sweet Dreams” is a combination of fantasies, dreams and symbols that create an eclectic concept of the artist’s aesthetics. In addition, the presented creations stood out with an unconventional finish in the form of 3D elements and various embroideries, interspersed with ethereal, transparent fabrics.
As usual, many fashion, music and television stars responded to the designer’s invitation. A standing ovation was given by, amongst all, Aneta Kręglicka, Monika Olejnik, Kasia Warnke, Kasia Kowalska, Joanna Horodyńska, Anita Sokołowska, Tomasz Jacyków and Łukasz Jemioł. There is no sign of the recent troubles. We are left with nothing else but to anticipate the latest collection of “Sweet Drams” in the designer’s boutiques.
