Eastern Europe goes wild - Wild West by Gosia Baczyńska - spring/summer 2018

2017-11-27 Eastern Europe goes wild - Wild West by Gosia Baczyńska - spring/summer 2018

On November 21, we took a leap to the Wild West together with Gosia Baczyńska. The designer gave us experiences straight from a western, filtered through her aesthetic sensitivity, current trends and bold outlook into the future.

The Warsaw Bristol hotel created a setting for the fashion set of Baczyńska’s film, which rearranged its interior specially for this occasion - one evoked a Paris cafe, the other a saloon somewhere out in Colorado. Models did not walk a classic catwalk but circled around guests set in these unusual rooms. In any case, they did not as much pass among the viewers, but rather played in this theatrical performance - entwined around sculpted railing, rocked in chairs or theatrically fell onto a grand bed covered with a baldachin situated in the central part of one of the halls.

And what was the collection itself like? Baczyńska decided to bet on fun - her dresses are airy and girly, but the very designer seems to be sending out a slight wink at the audience - if there’s traditional fringes and frills, only in a transparent and seductive edition, which makes it wildly modern. If there’s pistols, then in the form of a print on top quality fabrics, and jeans that just had to be tattered, rescaled or almost on the contrary - in the form of skimpy shorts, which no nineteenth-century fashion plate would dare to put on. The designer did not choose obvious matches, therefore we did not see cowboy shoes or buffy sleeves, but rather multicolor boots with sculpted heels and dressed with laser-cut application. The same that we could admire on the creation worn by duchess Kate during her recent visit in Warsaw.

Supposedly, Baczyńska did not introduce color revolutions; supposedly, she does not base around classic hues of white, black and pink, and yet each presented silhouette of this evening is different, surprising, often revealing a new face of a well-known shade.

We are very pleased to have once again had the occasion to cooperate with Gosia Baczyńska and be her partner in the show. With its elegant, glazed bottles, Cisowianka Perlage perfectly fit into the refined interior of the Bristol hotel and quenched the thirst of numerous guests that evening.
