On February 16, Maciej Zień presented his latest collection for the fall/winter season 2018/19 in Żoliborz Studio Tęcza. Her inspiration was the song "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie. How could the clash of two strong, artistic personalities be transferred into fashion?

The collection was dominated by silken muslins, delicate tulles, georgettes, chiffons and organza. The designs were decorated with elaborately made embroidery, pearl ornaments, jets, lace and sequins. The collection featured mainly smoky, subdued colors with yellow and pink accents. This airiness and transparency of materials has been used to create long dresses which Zień is famous for, but also more casual sets resembling bomber sweatpants and sweatshirts.

The person who joined the collection and show, and provided additional inspiration in the creation process was Kasia Warnke, who appeared in both the video displayed before the show and the catwalk itself. The event started with a clip showing a defenseless girl, in this role Warnke, attacked by a group of lads, and ended with an unexpected appearance of the actress in front of the audience, where she was dressed by the designer before the viewers. The muse’s gown is made of shimmering silk, with metal mesh richly planted with Swarovski crystals. After this short performance, Warnke and Zień descended from the catwalk, which was later taken by the other models.

Maciej Zień has been present on the fashion scene for 17 years, which makes him one of the founders of the Polish fashion world. His shows, since the very beginning, have been a synonym of originality and avant-garde, and projects - craftsmanship and exceptional femininity. It’s no wonder that his invitation is given to the stars, which are not often seen on the walls. Studio Tęcza hosted, amongst all, Danuta Stenka, Aneta Kręglicka, Maja Ostaszewska and Alicja Majewska who supported and applauded the designer.

The partner of the event was Cisowianka Perlage, whose stylish and timeless bottles perfectly fit into the theme of the evening.
